The Equipment

The equipment we use on all our courses is based on what is used at the famous Manchester United Academy. Our experience has taught us exactly the right equipment to help our coaches deliver first-class sessions.\par

stratfordend

Shooting Target

A new addition to our 2007 program which proved very popular with the players. The Stretford End Target provides a visual target that encourages players to aim for the corners of each side of the goal and to be accurate with your shot, power being of secondary importance when shooting for goal. Now is your chance to score in the Stretford End!

Mini Goals

Mini Goals

In 2008 the mini goals were introduced into the programme to support our small sided game philosophy. The players who attend a MUSS course are introduced to the 4x4 games system which the MUFC academy is so well know for using. The players are encouraged to express themselves within these games \emdash conditioned practices with the goals being a fundamental aspect of knowing when? where? and what? type of shooting technique to use within a small sided game situation.

Football Fitness Equipment

The football fitness equipment consists of fast feet ladders, hurdles, slalom poles and reaction belts. All of which are used to assist the children with the development of their own S Factor \emdash speed, strength, suppleness, stamina and skill. The physical demands of today's game places great emphasis on players being able to make a difference especially within close matches. Having that extra fitness level to call upon could prove the difference between winning and losing \emdash that is why the football fitness training has become a key part of any MUSS course within 2008.

Mannequins

Mannequins

The mannequins provide participating players with a visual learning aid that enables them to focus on the important technical aspects of how to dribble with a ball correctly. The equipment ensures that players keep the ball close to them, are able to use both feet and demonstrate a change of pace and direction that will take them away from defenders. After all, who doesn't dream of being able to dribble like Ronaldo \emdash this piece of equipment certainly helps towards making these dreams come true.

Passing Gates

Passing Gates

MUSS utilise passing gates across all of our courses throughout the UK and International sites. The gates are a perfect training aid used to improve the passing technique of each player. Today's game is becoming more demanding and faster \emdash it is therefore essential that players are taught how to pass the ball and when to pass a ball. The decision making and accuracy of the pass is critical whether it be over a short or long distance. The passing gates help to encourage players to look before they pass and take a great deal of care and attention in the process.

Soccer Wave

Soccer Wave

In 2007 the soccer wave passing apparatus was voted the most popular piece of equipment amongst our participating players. This piece of equipment provides players with the opportunity not only to practice their passing technique it also provides them with the challenge to test their aerial control, turning with the ball and volleying technique. Again the main coaching emphasis is placed on the accuracy and pace of the pass.\par
